From Humble Beginnings
From humble beginnings in 1958 to major advances in the field of aging services, Baptist Village Communities continues to empower senior adults through service to God and one another.
What started as an idea by God in the hearts of two dedicated Baptists, Will and Nora Baskett, has grown to be the largest not-for-profit provider of senior housing and services in Oklahoma.
Construction on the first Baptist Village location began in November of 1958 after the Basketts donated 68 acres of land in Hugo, Oklahoma, and rallied the residents of southeastern Oklahoma to raise $65,000. Oklahoma Baptists donated the remaining $35,000 to complete the project.
What happened over the next several decades is nothing short of God’s provisions. People generously donated land and financial gifts, allowing Baptist Village to expand our services and locations to include 12 lifestyle campuses, four home care locations, and most recently the Pierce Institute.
When Nora Baskett tore up her feather bed to make pillows for the first residents in the 1950s, did she and her husband, Will, imagine that what would become known as Baptist Village Communities would be Oklahoma’s largest not-for-profit provider of senior living housing and services with 12 lifestyle communities and 4 home care locations across the state?

Convenience is a key feature for residents at Baptist Village Communities. Residents have services they need right on campus… including dining, salons, wellness and learning centers, life enrichment activities, and exciting scheduled transportation for off-campus outings.

We understand that sometimes a little extra help is needed. Entrusted Hearts Home Care is a licensed home care and medical equipment division of Baptist Village Communities. Our team consists of experienced and compassionate professionals who are dedicated to helping you or a loved one achieve and maintain the highest possible level of independence in the comfort of home.
To make your life easier, our services are tailored to meet your individual needs rather than being one-size-fits-all. We offer free home consultations, and our rates are affordable to fit most budgets.
Financial Assistance
We understand it’s impossible to accurately predict a person’s lifespan and the amount of money that will be needed to live in a safe, secure environment. We know that sometimes, a little financial help is needed. Baptist Village offers the Larry and Edwine Adams Assistance Fund, a resource available to Baptist Village residents to help meet essential living needs.
