Activities Assistant

Position Summary

Baptist Village Communities is seeking an Activities Assistant to support engaging, meaningful Life Enrichment experiences for residents. This role helps create a fun, welcoming environment by assisting with planning and leading activities, connecting with residents one-on-one, and supporting new resident transitions through admission assessments. The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, organized, and enjoys serving senior adults, including residents living with dementia. This position is Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with Life Enrichment activities that encourage connection, purpose, and enjoyment for residents.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and carry out daily activities for residents.
  • Interact with residents in group settings and one-on-one, providing support and encouragement.
  • Support residents with various levels of dementia with patience, compassion, and respect.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to the activities program as needed.
  • Help maintain a positive, vibrant atmosphere that is engaging and resident-focused.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Life Enrichment program and campus needs.

 

Qualifications 

  • Fun, energetic, engaging, and patient personality with a heart for serving senior adults.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with residents one-on-one, including individuals with various levels of dementia.
  • Ability to complete admission assessments and support documentation as needed.
  • Valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License required.

 

Physical and Work Environment

  • Office environment within a healthcare facility
  • Must possess adequate sight and hearing, with or without assistive devices, to meet job requirements.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Uniform Employment Application for Nurse Aide Staff (Effective November 1, 2012)
